Introduction
Laurence and Anouk (hello 👋) are the driving force behind Libréa: two engaged female entrepreneurs who are redefining feminine wellness.
- How did it all start? After supporting our families during the COVID-19 pandemic, we had a strong desire to provide concrete help to women.
- What does it involve? Our flagship product is the menstrual panty. We chose to start from scratch and create our own Libréa panty instead of drop-shipping. We'll tell you more about it later!
- How does it continue? Entrepreneurship is particularly challenging. Our secret to maintaining a high level of energy is to make decisions following our values: freedom (comfort and simplicity at the heart of our mission), responsibility (towards the environment and youth), and trust (quality and transparency).
Sustainable and Comfortable Products
Imagine if, on the day of your first period, someone had told you, "Hi, I'm (your period), you never know when I'll show up, but I promise, I'll be back every month for the next 40 years. I'll (among other things) irritate you, give you cramps, and you'll throw away more than 12,000 disposable products." Not a glamorous program!
At Libréa, we're committed to reducing our environmental footprint with every action we take.
- Finished product: Unlike disposable products, Libréa menstrual panties are reusable. Thanks to our high-quality materials and stitching, you can use our panties for 3 to 5 years. All the good businessmen tell us that it's not very good for business if our customers only need to come once every 5 years 😂 We rely on word of mouth from our satisfied customers, and with a quarter of the population needing our panties, we have a little time before we run out of customers... 😀!
- Packaging: 0 plastic, only tissue paper, cardboard, and recycled paper. Your cat will be happy to play with 😸! Recently, we had a big brainstorming session, and with the help of our beloved community, we decided to replace the cute love letter we sent in each package with a QR code that will allow us to print less paper while still providing the information that everyone needs! This will be launched by the end of April 2023.
- Manufacturing: It's a source of pride and... a daily challenge! A good businessman (there he is again 😂) would have advised us to drop ship from Asia so that we could focus more on marketing and communication. Once again, we're counting on you, dear satisfied customer, to spread the word and help us become known (because we don't have too much time, we have to watch over our little panties in production 😂😂)
- We're targeting the Romanian market first and foremost, our adoptive and beloved country. Therefore, we've built our entire production chain as close to our customers as possible (in Bucharest, Cluj, and Ploiesti, depending on the product) to reduce our carbon footprint.
- All materials are sourced locally or in Europe (Turkey, France, Belgium, Romania) and are recyclable.
- We recycle our fabric scraps into reusable makeup remover discs, available on our e-shop.
